They use Nokias on the IEDs so that they can reuse them

You could easily get around this. Ping the phone every 5s, if it doesn't answer within 25s, then it self-activates. Pretty easy to create with simple electronics.

I'm sure they did come up with solutions like that though. Rather simple. Just as they started using explosively formed penetrators after the humvee upgrades.

Another thing would be creating a high-powered highly directional antenna. Directional antennas can overcome blocking. Although at this point you might as well just run a wire 100m away to another receiver, and just have that one be the receiver. Much simpler solution that would bypass it.

the great thing about using a Nokia for an ied is you can just go get it after because it will be just fine

Pretty sure our enemies don’t need to know about this.

This thing was a game changer but I had questions like...how does this effect on board communications? Does it cause radiation that is harmful to us?

I like how you have a quick but informative rundown in the shorts. And inform us that there is a longer video. A lot of YouTubers should take note

I knew the guy who headed the DUKE project. He was a 20 year submariner. My best friends father. That device saved myself and so many others. His funeral was last November in Norfolk.

Anyone else remember the sound the duke would make in your VIC system as a gunner?

I can just imagine Carl turning it on inside the base....

We had the warlock system when I was in Iraq. We called it the whiskey. Either way it didn’t work very well.

You should do a video about the active protection system that basically re directs the blow from an IED or mine down and out from the vehicle. I’m pretty sure it’s still new and isnt in use widely but it’s cool.

Edit i believe it’s called the active floor protection system or AFPS. Invented by a Brit!

So how do patrols remain in contact with command and control? Are there radios that can be used within the area of effect?

Force fields are sort of possible but not really it's weird to explain
Also hope Carl's alright

So it's basically a emp force feild that blocks any signals that run on a specific wavelengths from going out.

What about wired? Like they have a cartoon detonator a distance away but has the wire covered all the way to the bomb and when the yanks came closer. would it scramble the wired bomb from detonating? Or would it still go off due to being electronic charge.
