I often ask my Chaucer students to memorize and recite the opening 18 lines of the Canterbury Tales. It's a great way to practice Middle English pronunciation. This video demonstrates what it might have sounded like in the 14th century.

If you'd like to see more middle English content, let me know. I'm thinking of doing more videos on Chaucer.

English teacher here -- thank you for posting a narration that is correctly pronounced, pleasant to the ear, and has actual Middle English subtitles instead of some weird, inaccurate pronunciation guide. I'll be showing this to my students!
