DP/30: The World To Come, Katherine Waterston

She broke down the door to celebrity with Shasta in Inherent Vice, but since then, she has balanced her film choices between high-profile studio films like Fantastic Beasts and Alien Covenant and high-quality fare like Mid-90s, and The Third Day on HBO, and now, The World To Come, a period drama about love, loss, and acceptance. She took some time to chat with David Poland about the new film and her career.

I find Waterston to be Articulate, hypnotic and magnanimous. Not to mention absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I’m so glad she wants to continue challenging herself and continue acting.

She seems like such a lovely person, kind, intelligent and someone who does what they do for a reason. Like she invests in her projects and cares about them and that really comes across 💜

Vanessa Kirby and Katherine, wow. This film is incredible, even if it is so struggling and heartbreaking but at the same way it contains first of all pure joy and freedom. The possibility to choose for these two women, which is clearly covered by the way of living in that period. Tally understands from the beginning that she cannot have a life with Abigail and chooses not to live at all. I look forward to having it in Italy.

I agree with Waterston… streaming can be overwhelming. Not a major fan of TV shows so stuff like West Wing, Sopranos… forget it. I have no desire to watch them.
