Hi everyone! Let me know what you're using the Spin Tool for in the comments down below! :)

Spin tool is a lifesaver but you're a lighthouse in my 3d modelling journey. THANK YOU!

Mostly used the screw modifier for the lathe purposes or did a skin modifier on a curve to make pipelines. Never used this tool before, but after this video i definitely start using this. It looks more controllable then the options i just mentioned and it looks to me like a faster way to create the same results. It is a more destructive way then using modifiers, but if you have planned out your design before creating any parts in blender, this is a time saver in my opinion. Thanks for this tip.

Thanks for the well-explained tutorial. I use this one for architectural modeling, where the designer created straight walls with attached round rooms that are partial circles. Especially helpful was the info for moving, expanding, changing the circle after drawing it.

This saves so much headache when building pipe structures!

Just want to say thanks for these vids! They explain things so well!

The big advantage is the continuous editing and setting pivot points with the 3d cursor. But it needs a bit more practice to set the point to get the wanted effect. At least much better than tinker with empties in a modifier.

5:47 - Is there a way to move the point at which the "pipe" bends. For instance, I have a pipe that is 10" and then when I spin it creates additional length to the pipe. Is there a way to spin and constrain it to the current length?

I think this is going to be a great tool to create bow and other weapon with interesting curve tube shape.

One of the cool tools that is not unfinished. Unlike the Extrude manifold which could have a game changer for direct modeling.

Thanks! Was having trouble changing the axis of the spin for my gun model 🔫

It would be great if you use keyboard tracker. I'm just a novice.
How do you shift the direction of the Y axis?
And how to do you lift the spin like in the videos? Mine just spins on the mesh itself.

I like how the first thing everyone makes with these lathe tools is a very butt plug like object.

Clear!!! Thnx! Just one question! - it is possible to animate SPIN?

Hi. 4:35 Can you explain how to locate 3D cursor exactly on the corner of the object or on the center of the edge? What is the command for this?

Wondering if it's possible to use the spin tool as a shape key or not. I think I saw somewhere that you can't add new geometry with shape keys but if I can, that would be next level.
