I got bored so I wanted to look back into Genshin Impact's Mondstadt Archon Quest, one of my favorite archon quests in the game. So, let's talk about the God of Freedom and his final act to sever ties with Celestia.

I just wanted to talk about venti's secretive nature because I have a whole list of his secrets and I'm so confused.

Yeah and the thing that I think everyone forgets is uh Venti can literally just vanish with the winds lmao. Like that’s the very first thing we see him do after scaring away Dvalin. If he genuinely wanted to preserve the gnosis/his power, he could’ve just dipped.

Venti carved the land of Old Monstadt and changed the weather to be suitable for his people. He did all this with his raw wind power. Venti has eyes and ears wherever the wind blows. Sound is air vibrations, and what is air? It is anemo. He literally has ears everywhere. My point is Venti is really strong. He could have very easily flattened Signora and turned her into a meat pancake. Instead he chose to diss her with rhymes and poems to anger her. He didn't even choose to chase her down and take back his gnosis. He 1000% knew her plan, waited for her to come directly to him and then fully allowed her to take his gnosis. It is very clearly all an act. Venti is not stupid. He pretends to be a clown bard, but he literally is a god... Also, Signora kicked him right in the nuts and he fell over and the thing is... HE DOESN'T HAVE NUTS! His body is made of anemo magic.

venti would probably b like "oh BOY i'd just HATE if someone STOLE my GNOSIS. it'd really SUCK if someone SEVERED my TIES to CELESTIA. i'd sure hate to have THAT happen" while swinging his gnosis around and staring directly at signora

Good to see that someone else notice that Venti is more than Ehe personality he always shows.
He intelligent enough to bring Durin to Dragonspine because Durin blood is poisonous which made the poison unable to effect Mondstadt.
I always thought that Venti give his Gnosis out of free will cause he still powerful enough without his gnosis. He also seems to foreshadowing that he knows the Abyss Prince/Princess because like Abyss Prince/Princess, he encouraged the traveller to continue their journey across the Teyvat and says they might learn something at the end of their journey.

Venti’s third taunt at Signora is very clever actually. He’s actually taunting both her and the Tsarita a bit. By acknowledging her smirk is “out of place” he’s placing a reminder that she is usually cold and emotionless. While also suggesting that she “stole it (the smirk) from your master’s face” is a tacit acknowledgment that he knows the Tsarita doesn’t smile anymore.

- The archons won the war and THEN became gods, they won the war WITHOUT the gnosis
- Venti is the second oldest archon after Zhongli and 1 of the only 2 original archons that won the war. All of the other archons died and switched people at some point. There's a reason for that.
- When the archons unleash their power (both lore and in game), the end of their hair lit up (same colour as their elemental power). This happened during venti's story quest ending and the archons' Es and Qs in game. Venti's hair didn't lit up when Señora took his gnosis, so does that mean that the power he used can't even compare to his elemental skill?

- Remember after we woke up and Señora left with the gnosis, Barbara said its odd that her healing magic doesn't work on Venti. So maybe he faked the injuries?

- Venti carved the land of Mond into what we know today.
- He can literally vanish in the air like he first did when we first met him
- Baal gave her gnosis to Yae Miko a long time ago but still have a lot of power

- So in conclusion, the gnosis have nothing to do with the power of the archon, at least not a lot. The archons were at 8 and the gnosis bring them up to 10? Its more of a sign of power and connection to the Celestia.

This comment section made me smile seeing people actually appreciate venti is something i haven't seen in a while and since he's my favorite character u can imagine I wasn't having much of a good time in the community where most people trash on venti so thanks to u all u made my day

Venti's reaction after losing his gnosis is interesting, he's actually a bit sad about that, I bet there's sentimental value on that, especially bcs gnosis is the power up that allow him to take form of his friend in the first place, but he just let it go, he doesn't want revenge or tell the traveler that it's so important they need to fetch it back. He just there taking his loss like a champ, heck, it seems like he just ready to accept mortality, just like zhongli (I assume they all immortal until directly killed)

About the intention, he can let it go willingly he can just be surprised, either way that doesn't change much of his characters, he doesn't yearn for power nor a total idiot. He's just the god with much humane quality & flaw without trying to hide it, he have his silly side but with all lines & action he feels like the most loving archon among the 3 introduced, he whistleblow when he can, he show opinions about higher authority but also not treating the audience/traveler like a kid that need to be taught A B C. He became archon bcs other candidate refuse to do so not because he is qualified in governing & he took it because it gave him the chance to realize his friend's dream place to live

Also the signora part, he doesn't need to be fully aware of signora's identity to roast her, because it apparent that fatui are haughty & do whatever they please because they borrow their god's power & directly act by tsaritsa's blessing. They are only hot shit bcs their god let them do whatever without repercussion (unlike zhongli that even when he is retired still punish people who broke contract)

I have a more apt theory, that Venti didn't want to unleash his power while within Mondstadt City. As Zhongli has said (paraphrasing here) "The power of a god, no matter how little, is too much for mortals to handle", and the Gnosis has enough power (like a direct plug from Celestia) to appropriately defend himself, just that it can also destroy the surrounding area.

Also, one note during the Prologue is this: Venti gave something divine to Dvalin, so divine that even the dragon exclaims "Is this the power of the Anemo Archon?"

Venti does have an act to do thing that aren't obvious but have greater meaning behind them so I agreed that he gave the Gnosis willingly. In addition it would've been odd for the God of freedom to be the only God so far to put up a fight against the Gnosis hunt seeing that fact that he doesn't like Celestia anyway

I think, on a grander scale, Venti set this up for the Traveler to have another reason for their journey. It's not him playing himself, but rather Venti playing them with their own plans. When he met the traveler, he knew he already have an ace up his sleeve. I think the whole quest is just a play of some sort for him.

He didn't do anything wrong to Rosalyne but he chose to let her have that feeling of superiority nevertheless since he knows her story. I'm having real sus vibes with Venti's "sleeping" time. Is sleeping the only way to avoid erosion? Lol. He doesn't seem to care about that one.

Venti also not attacking could be because he doesn't want to cause Mondstadt to suffer damage from him actually fighting since we know the kind of terraforming he can do, coupled with what you said in the video, him giving the gnosis is just the better decision to make.

Separately, but in the same vein, I think analyzing the Fatui's plan to get Raiden's gnosis could be a potential video idea. IMO from what we know so far there was zero chance of their plan working unless Raiden would have simply had Yae give it to them.

Venti is one of my favorite characters because of how complex he always seemed to me in the game. He plays himself up as a playful, alcohol-loving bard, but there are so many moments where he displays a sharper mind and an awareness that escapes so many other characters.

I love how well you put this theory to words in a single video. I can't wait to see what other videos you have planned.

All the Archons we have met are interesting to dissect and theorize, but Venti is by far the most enigmatic. While he claims to be the weakest Archon, a weak hurricane is a hurricane all the same. Yet, he is one of the last two original Archons standing; the other being Morax. Venti appears diminutive and feminine while Morax *oozes* masculine charm and is one of the tallest characters yet released. They are polar opposites to one another and I think that having them as the archons of the Prologue and Chapter 1 is no accident. MiHoYo storytelling might be spotty in the short-term, but they can deliver on years-building payoffs and really shine in the long game.

That said, Morax, historically, was a brute; a god of war, and was reigned in by his partner (I'm not even going to try to spell her name but you know who I mean) to be a overall more rounded (or perhaps slightly eroded?) and compassionate individual. To continue the contrasts between Geo and Anemo archons, that leaves Venti. I believe Venti may be by far the most intelligent of the archons, and not just due to potential insights from a possible connection to a god of Time. Venti is a schemer and trickster, as discussed. A Tom Sawyer of archons; conning others into doing his bidding, though not maliciously.

To make a long post short, Venti would probably conclude that he can't know the Tsaritsa's true intentions at this time, but knew she was coming for him and would not relent, putting his people in the crossfire. So, he did what he does best. My belief is that he siphoned off most of the Gnosis' power into Dvalin when he was cured as both an apology and a way of keeping his people safe. The Gnosis may be still linked to Celestia and may still have enough power in it to not raise eyebrows, but might be lacking that critical little bit until Venti figures out her intentions.

How does he plan on figuring out her real game? The Traveler. He knows they'll go to every region eventually and when we get there, he may be able to use us as a lens into her current state of mind.

TL;DR: Venti smart boi, hide most of Gnosis power in skypet. Let Gnosis be captured (though it hurt more than he figured) and sent Traveler off on their way to eventually meet Tsaritsa and use us as a means of gauging her true intentions.
