OTF Knife Mechanism Animation

quick disclaimer, the terms used here are just based on my simplification. this animation was made, because I had no idea how otf knives worked, so I made one in blender in order to study it.

If I had to watch another 3 minute video of some muppet telling me how rubber bands work I was going to lose it.

With the amount of views this has gotten im kinda embarrassed. I knew nothing about the names of the parts while making this, and i am not an animator. I literally did this because i was bored one night and wanted to build an otf knife but didnt have the tools money or knowledge necessary.

This helped me fix my OTF. It didn’t come off the track like usual; but it just fully stopped. The slide was free to move back and fourth and the blade came in and out with gravity. The spring snapped right at the bottom. I just re threaded the spring and it worked great.
