love your content zack, i’ve been watching blade hq since i was 12 and i’m 14 now. I was sad to see you leave but all that really matters is that you still share knife knowledge and content👍😁👍

My ultra tech went missing when starting my new job. Amazing and useful knife. Hoping it was misplaced on my part

My Dirac locked in the extended position and won't retract. How can this happen? I'm sending it in for repair. Never had one do that before.

I wish these were legal in my state, so many gorgeous switches out there.

How secure is the blade when extended? I'd be concerned that the blade would wobble unless the track was absolutely perfect. What about If the front latch went along the width of the blade instead of one edge. Could be done with minimal changes to the design

What brand are those? They look like they are really good quality?

Which spring is responsible for the 🔥 actuation?
My Troodon comes back in harder than it fires

That is a spring assist knife not a switchblade. A spring assist happens when you slide the blade or move the blade and then it is released to go out. A switchblade is instant release. That little difference will determine in many states whether that knife is legal or not.

Where does the energy come from that powers the actuation?

It's not that it overcomes the detent it's that the firing mechanism disengages the detent in the last 10 percent of the switch travel

I don’t own an otf so this may be a dumb question but when you stab something with it, let’s say you stick it into a tree or a log how come the blade isn’t shop back into the knife?

I have an OTF that the blade won't lock in the out position. After resetting in the out position, it does close and lock inside. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas that I can do to repair/fix my knife. Thank you in advance.
I have opened my knife but don't see anything obvious, I put it back together and no change. Is it fixable?

That was a very entertaining video Zac! Thanks to stupid knife laws in The Netherlands, we are not allowed to own, let alone carry OTF's/Switchblades.

thank you for this. I had a microtech piece of trash. i popped mine open in front of a piece of paper and it unseated from the tracks and the springs disconnected. I had to buy the special screw bit to open it and reseat the springs and put it back on its track.
