Double actions are cool because there's less of a chance of stabbing you if accidentally point it at yourself. Sure it will poke you, but for the most part it bounces off, and if you don't keep them clean and oiled sometimes the blade won't fully extend. I would not try it near the eyes or face however.

I love single action OTFs. The force of the deployment and very little blade play (if any) addresses the two reasons I dislike typical OTFs.

So, IDK about other double action OTFs. But I'm a huge microtech fan boy. With that last knife, the Troodon, the springs aren't under tension when open. That's like microtechs biggest selling point with their double action OTFs. The springs are at rest both in the open and closed positions. Love your videos, man 🙏 keep rocking it.

That Halo is sick! I had a Halo III and should've never sold it...

The halo is best to be stored open, so it doesn’t have Constant Spring tension. I own a bunch of halos and that spring wears out faster than you think, and the ejection won’t be powerful anymore, which is the best part of single action knife.

I’ve got the halo and Troodon. Both amazing knives. But I carry the newer glykon. It just has a great feel and blade to it.
