Lucille - Everly Brothers Cover (with lyrics)

Показать описание
Written by Albert Collins (not to be confused with the famous blues guitarist of the same name), and first recorded by Little Richard in 1957, this song was the classic rock/blues offering of the time – basically three chorus lines, one verse line, and a frantic rhythm.
The unique voice of Little Richard, combined with a virtual chorus of saxofones, Richard's piano, and that driving rhythm section (guitar, bass, drums) saw it become one of the founding classics of rock and roll.
It was later covered by quite a few of the notable artists of the era, including the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis. Understandably, very few attempted to reproduce the unmistakable solo voice of Little Richard, with many of them using multi-tracked vocals to "beef it up".
However, a slower-paced, "bluesy" version released in 1960 by The Everly Brothers was hugely successful.
This cover of mine is based on The Everly Brothers arrangement, a challenging little vocal exercise trying to emulate the combined sound of two brothers (with genetically similar timbre and pitch) singing in harmony with a mixed backing chorus.
Nevertheless, I hope it sounds passable, and that you enjoy listening to it.
