Hey, I grew up listening to this music.  I would not have it any other way.  My mom played this music on the turntable and the radio every day. I would listen and love this music every day.  The 1950's and 60's were great times for me.  I've forgotten the bad times.  Music has always been fab.  I am greatful for being born at just the right time, with such great parents and teachings.  No police record

I was visiting my dad and step mom at their summer cottage a few years step mom was visiting her family a few hours away....wasn't due home for a couple of days....so dad and I stocked up on whisky and beer for the weekend....later that night dad put on some good old rock and roll....when this song came on....dad said..." son...this is when rock was good!"....I agreed with him....and played the song a few times that night!!.... what a memory...

I love this. I never thought anybody could top Little Richard's version, but this Everlys version is so haunting. Love it!

One of the best sounds of any generation ... from the '60's to today.

Superb version of a Little Richard classic. Have loved it for 50 years.

Temptation - by Everly Brothers (1960) is sublime also. (Written in 1933).

Only the Everlies could take Little Richard's scream and sing it in perfect harmony and with lovely tone (1:33 to 1:36). I've been crying for hours since learning of Phil's passing. They were my first "favorite artist" and always my favorite duo. As others have said, they taught a generation how to sing harmony. It took me 50 years to notice that Phil always stayed a little farther from the mike than Don, so his higher harmony part wouldn't overpower Don's melody. Glad that Phil lived to see the unique tribute of an entire album of theirs (1958 folk collection "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us") being covered, cleverly named "Foreverly" by Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones.  Phil was pleased with it. Now Phil is harmonizing in heaven with Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Sam Cook, Otis Redding and so many others we've lost. Prayers to the family.

I was weened on this music.  My late great mom got me started with these guys on a used album she had named. "A date with the Everley Brothers",   and as I aquired that LP, I loved it soooo much, I wore it out.  Fast forward to a few years ago, I got a CD of the same album.  Good for some time now.  Anyway, greaat duo, music, loved their songs forever.
