How to connect any USB C earphones to Macbook Pro or Macbook Air

How to use USBC headphones on Macbook Pro/ Macbook Air:
• Connect the earset/headset to the USB-C of your Macbook Pro or Macbook Air
• Wait for 3 to 5 minutes until they shows up on the Sound Output list (System Preferences - Sound - Output tab)

If it doesn't work out, just keep the Sound dialog window open. The headset option will eventually appear.

thank you for this video. I was about to return apple's new wired usb-c headphones. I thought once I plugged them in it would automatically work but they didn't. I had to go to the sound settings and select them. Now it works.

For me, I had to go to System Settings > Sound > Output & Input > Output > EarPods (select "EarPods" here, or your favorite headphones)
repeat the process for the mic, just click the Input tab instead of Output (it was "Earpods Microphone" for me)
**this was with the Apple Earpods with the USB-C connector on an M1 macbook pro

It actually works!!! On OS Ventura you will see a different interface but works the same, live it like two minutes and it will appear. Thanks a lot.

nice vid mate. I would point out that it should connect instantly, just make sure that when you select samsung headphones in the sound preferences, that you've selected it for both output (to listen) and input (for mic)

Can you please explain why do I have to wait?
I assume that it needs time to recognise and make it compatible I guess. However, the wait every time is extremely annoying.
Is there a way we can save its configuration or maybe something else?

cool! thanks man, it worked for me! I have the same AKG headset. Apparently it takes time for the mac to download usb drivers. I plugged in the first time and my headset didn't work, only sound volume button. Then I surfed the internet and found your video, thanks!
