How to connect a modem and router:
To connect a modem and router, you need to use an ethernet cable:
--One end of the ethernet cable connects to the router’s WAN port. In general, this port will be labeled “WAN” or “Internet” on the router. The other ethernet ports on the router are LAN ports that are meant for connecting devices directly to the router for a wired internet connection
--The other end of the ethernet cable connects to the modem’s ethernet port. The modem should only have one ethernet port, which makes this step really easy. This port will most likely be labeled “ethernet”
Once the ethernet cable has been connected to both devices and both devices have been powered on and configured correctly, it will provide a wireless internet connection to the network.
This process will be applicable to all modems and routers designed for home use. The make and the model of the modem and router do not matter, all types of modems and routers will be connected with an ethernet cable.
