Mother: Is calm, patient, good natured and basically an ideal patient
Manning: Something's wrong here, I can feel it

If she wasn't really worried, she wouldn't have gone to several doctors even after being told by several pediatricians that her baby is fine. She's acutely aware of her baby's cry that is "different" and that's really amazing.

A mother can't feel anxiety or stress, and the thought of accidentally hurting her son still terrified her. That's the power of love.

She’s not really emotionless she just doesn’t have extreme negative emotions

I think this is one of the rare occasions where Dr. Manning is mostly professional and in the end actually nice to a parent- usually she's judgy even when she finds out she's wrong

This mother may not feel anxiety etc and not every emotion, but she does care about her kid, and is genuinely loving and trying her best despite not feeling everything.

Your telling me she's never been able to feel anxiety and depressive thoughts!?!? I WANT THAT

She is one of the best mothers. She is not worried about herself but thinking about her son made her cry even with this disease. It must be painful not feeling any emotions.
Edit : thanks a lot for likes everyone.

I love that even though she couldn’t feel it herself she understood the pain her son could have been going through. She is such a caring mother

I feel bad for the mother, she's just trying to help her son..

The assumption that mothers have to be a nervous wreck when their baby is ill otherwise something is wrong is actually harmful. When my big brother was a baby he had a seizure and so my mum called an ambulance and took him to hospital and was pretty calm because she doesn't visually show her panic when in a high stress situation. Because she wasn't seen as panicked 'enough' she genuinely got a care worker called on her. To this day she thinks that it was ridiculous, cruel and the least helpful thing the hospital could have done. My mum isn't that nice but she was never abusive and the fact that the hospital thought she was just because she wasn't having a meltdown is wrong

This mom looks kind, caring and reasonable. No unnecessary screaming and drama, no stupidity and arguing with doctors. She is great)

MANNING: I'm a mother and if another mother doesn't react to a situation EXACTLY as I would, there must be something wrong with them

So basically, she's insanely hardy and just really tough when it comes to stress and pain, but she still has the ability to empathize and feel out when things are different. That's actually really cool. She isn't devoid of emotion she just isn't as sensitive to negative stimuli.

she clearly isn't emotionless. She cares for and loves her baby. She wants what's best. She's not giving up on finding a diagnosis because she knows his cry is different. That's not someone who is emotionless. She may not experience all the emotions in all the ways neurotypical people do, but she's not completely void of emotions.

Anyone with a kid:
MANNING: Been there I have a kid. I’m a single mother. Yes I have a kid. Incase you didn’t know I have a kid.
