Open Throat Singing Method - How It Really Works - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy 4K
The title speaks for itself.
Most people, when they sing, constrict their throat as they ascend a scale or a passage.
The key to great singing is to train the throat to stay open when singing.
But what does that mean to "train the throat to stay open"?
When we speak, depending on if we're raising our voice or not, we have different levels of pressure from air phonation (or sound).
This gets amplified exponentially when we sing.
In this video, I discuss a series of exercises we can do to keep the throat open so as not to constrict air and choke off or pinch and squeeze in the throat when we sing.
This not only provides better clarity in the sound and purity in the voice, but also gives us much greater range for singing, as well as stamina and longevity.
So come along for our discussion on how to sing with an open throat.
