What a great user experience M$ provides!
If they build a car, plan on having to manually empty the fuel pump every time before you get gas.

All i did was started the sim got the looking for updates and the update appeared and i just clicked download it and everything is fine. I didn't buy the sim from the store and it is on disk form plus i never empty my community folder and have never had any problems. But i have learnt a lot from this video. Thanks.

Thanks, the update of windows helped me with new MSFS IX update, before it showed me nothing like update in XBOX app, after update and restart it was there now I downloading update :)

Something that made a huge difference for me was downloading updates through a VPN connected to a US server. I'm in Canada and the download speeds I was getting came nowhere close to my actual internet speed, but when connected to a US server my download speeds were 4-5x faster for the remainder of the 80GB update.

Followed your procedures to check my own. Still had problems completing Update 7 download. Would not complete last 10 Gb. Ended up by deleting FS2020 and re installing vía Xbox download . Worked perfectly . Thanks again for your excellent tutorials.

Hi Mark, everything was really easy to follow, thank you 🙏 The one thing that I really needed to see at the end was, how the heck do you delete the MANUAL Cache????
I spent a couple of hours the other day trying to work out how and got in a bit of a tiz.
In the end all I could do was to find where it was within all the packages and what I call the “Dark untouchables” and deleted it from there and crossed 🤞 everything that I did no lasting damage.
There must be an easier way and if anyone knows I am sure it is you.

It's probably worth mentioning this, I started experiencing crash to desktops quiet often on night flights after installing either the MSFS 2020 update they had in December of 2021 or the hot fix they had earlier in January 2022. I installed the latest Nvidia driver but that didn't help. I finally updated the BIOS on the ASUS R.O.G. motherboard, I went from version 1601 to 1802 and that solved the CTDs I was experiencing.

I certainly wish that I saw this video before I downloaded MSFS 2020 update 8. So many problems I can’t list them all. Hope you could make a video to help those of us that got it wrong.
