FlyByWire A380 - Thrust Levers Calibration Tutorial | TCA Captains Pack - Full Setup Guide | MSFS

The A380X from FlyByWire of course, had 4 engines and in order to use these correctly, all need calibrating and setting up correctly in MSFS. In this video, I take you through this setup of choosing the correct axis & starter switches in the MSFS menu and then using the EFB to calibrate your thrust leverls.

Love it. I just really hope they get the chart screens working. And it would be absolute perfection for me. The aircraft is brilliant already dont get me wrong! Thanks FBW

Amazing thanks for this! I’m using the honeycomb bravo throttles and couldn’t figure out why the throttles were behaving in such bizarre ways. Didn’t know FBW had setup their own throttle calibration for this aircraft 😆

I managed to get mine set up earlier and it all worked pretty well, although looking at this video I still need to set the engine start switches up - I'd forgotten that. I did make the mistake of putting my A380 into a holding pattern while I tried to figure out what to do next, which managed to over-stress the aircraft and throw me back out to the menu. 😆

I was hoping for a video like this, thank you

You had problems with overlapping throttle because your throttle axis have curves set by default, if you open sensitivity for your axis in settings and set everything to 0% and Reactivity to 100%. That will fix the issue with scaling of the axis.
Also you can still use "Throttle 1/2/3/4 0 TO 100%" aircraft will recognize them.

Lossless scaling and lock Fps and the. X 2-3 Fps. Works perfect. Even in Dubai with a lot of traffic I have smooth performance.

I couldn’t find that calibration tab for the life of me! Haha doh.

Thanks.

hello Gavin you have to go to the sensitivity setup and put every thing to zero to have strait lines and then you can calibrate your throttle without touching the deadband in the tablet

Great video to the CLOSE end, then the overlapping values, you jumped and I could not get it to work. I wish you had more patience and explained that, which is the CRUCIAL point. Thanks

On the Thrustmaster throttles there is a slider switch Eng1&2 and then 3&4. Does the position of these switches matter? Thanks for your video. I

If you have or know someone with a 3D printer, make some new detents to push Flex and Toga higher up the range. Makes it a lot more realistic than having them evenly spaced like the TCA throttle is set up out of the box.

make sure to check sensetivity before starting the calibration, set all to 0% ded zone like 5%, reactivity 100%.

Thank you for helpfull video but what about calibrate speed brake?

I also recommend checking the charts for throttle (sensitivity - set everything to 0)
In my case, the throttle did not see the idle position because of this. so i had only revers climb and toga. setting all of that to 0 fix this issiue

I’ve tried using the side stick to move the nose wheel when taxiing but found it extremely challenging. The plane would start turning left when I was trying to turn right for example. Any thoughts of a fix for this? Maybe I did something wrong on my end. Thanks for the help!

I set my throttles to use the 0 > 100% and they work fine

Now that mapping is done, I’m concerned about this big boy 8k textures chugging 21Gb of my vram😂.
