This is as Allah says in the Quran about the jews "They will say 'The fire will only touch us for a few days.'

And Allah rethorically asks "Do they have a contract with God on this?"

And they say, "Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few days." Say, "Have you taken a covenant with Allah ? For Allah will never break His covenant. Or do you say about Allah that which you do not know
Sura 2, aya 80

I love your podcasts and love to learn of the Jewish culture and the Jewish history. I have a suggestion. Many, of us are not of the Jewish religion and doesn’t understand some of the Hebrew verbiage/language. It would be helpful (even if it’s one word) to explain in the English language what an event or explanation in any form means. It’s usually one Hebraic word ( eg. Shabbat, Shiva) and at times can be hard to follow! I hope this makes sense! God Bless!

Very interesting, Rabbi. I myself am a Catholic Christian, and the Jewish concept of hell sounds very similar to the Catholic concept of Purgatory. It is for those who are ultimately destined for heaven, but have either remaining temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven, or remaining venial sins which they did not get a chance to repent from before passing away.

Haha...he is so much in denial when he says "Christian and Muslims took from Judaism". On the other hand he and all Rabbis say that Muslims worship the same god as Jews. Worshipping the same god is in fact truth, but how can he say that this act or that act is taken from Judaism. When source of instruction is one then then instructions to followers will be same as well, no matter which race or people The God has given the instruction to. Jews, you have lost the priviledged people tag when you did not accept Jesus (pbuh) and then Muhammed (pbuh) after that.

Woe to those who threw Al Kitab behind their backs. Those who did not recite what was given unto them. Following their own desires. "Produce your proof! Recite what's given to you!" Says the truthful. "We say.. i think.. the scholars says...." says the liars. In Jahanam they will abide ETERNALLY with Allah permission. A painful torment to those who reject. Neither cleanses, rather increases them in torture. Neither alive nor dead.

Hell is not a hospital. Heaven is not a hospital. Reality in spiritual ways has influence. The same things which happened to Jesus in His day, happen to His followers in this day and for all time. The words of Jesus are consistent, and so is the reality of Gods judgement. To be judged means that either a person will be punished or rewarded after judgement.

The concept of hell as presented seems more like the Christian concept of purgatory as a transitory and cleansing state rather than the fixed destination of hell of most Christian systems.

None of what he said was sited from scripture. All was “assumed”. He believes in certain “purgatory” that was believed by Hindu and Greeks. All philosophical.

Allah exposes this lie ‘temporary punishment’

Allah says:

“That is because they (Jews) say, "Never will the Fire touch us except for [a few] numbered days, "

and [because] they were deluded in their religion by what they were inventing.”
Quran 2.24

The disbelievers will be in hell eternally.

“Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein.” Quran 98.6

It's a cleansing process. Burning of shame then go to eternal reward. Not in Hebrew

The Muslims took their religion, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, to whom God revealed the Qur’an. He is not from the Jews. God cannot tell anything to the prophets and then come after them prophets who contradict what was before them. For example, God revealed to Moses, peace be upon him, that there is heaven and fire. Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, comes and says There is no heaven and hell? This is not possible, because the prophets complete each other the same basic principles, but the laws differ a little
