We Have a Ghost is a film that takes place in a house in the Chicago area, a year after the previous family fled without explanation. The Presley family, consisting of father Frank, mother Melanie "Mel," and sons Fulton and Kevin, have now moved in. Kevin is unhappy with the frequent moves due to his father's ill-advised business ventures. One day, while exploring the attic, Kevin encounters the ghost of a man named Ernest, who he befriends, but his family soon discovers and shares the video of Ernest on the internet, making him a social media sensation. Kevin works with his neighbor Joy to track down clues to Ernest's identity while a CIA agent tries to capture him.
