When this guys says, "I think that God is the best explanation for all of the features of reality that we see. And I think he does this as a singular simple explanation. So, for example, some of the features of reality: Why there is something rather than nothing; the one and the many; the existence of the laws of logic; the existence of objective moral values and duties; why there's persons; why there's minds; why there's coherence between our inner, personal mind and the external world; and I'm going to butcher the quote but "the insane applicability of mathematics to reality"

...and so on, it seems like he's just claiming that god is a "simple" answer to a whole bunch of thorny metaphysical questions. Which is fine, for him, but the thing that always bothers me about this sort of reasoning is what strikes me as the obvious objection that god _isn't a simple answer to anything._ I'm not troubled by "the laws of logic" (they're just descriptions of perceived regularities) or objective morality (it doesn't seem to exist) but, sure, I can't tell you why there's something rather than nothing and I doubt we'll ever come up with a good explanation. But I'll never grasp how the supposition of an eternal, atemporal, nonphysical mind that created the universe from nothing by talking is any kind of explanation at all, much less a simple one.

If you say god has a mind and we have no evidence of a mind existing without a brain then you are creating a description of something you have never seen using words that apply to things we know. Therefore it is equally as adhoc as the spaghetti monster.
