North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and other state officials hold a briefing to discuss the ongoing recovery efforts from Helene.

Helene has caused a major flooding disaster in the Carolinas.
Communities remain cut off from the outside world with limited-to-no power or communication. Others have had to flee their homes to escape the rising flood waters brought on by Helene.

Across both North Carolina and South Carolina, a million and a half Carolinians remain without power.

The federal government has declared the western North Carolina mountains a major disaster area.

For emergencies, dial 911. For local community resource assistance, call 211.

To help with non-urgent storm cleanup, the Hurricane Helene Cleanup Hotline is available at 844-965-1386.

The American Red Cross is also available to assist at 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767).

The Carolina Weather Group operates a weekly talk show of the same name. Broadcasting each week from the Carolinas, the show is dedicated to covering weather, science, technology, and more with newsmakers from the field of atmospheric science. With co-hosts across both North Carolina and South Carolina, the show may closely feature both NC weather and SC weather, but the topics are universally enjoyable for any weather fan. Join us as we talk about weather, the environment, the atmosphere, space travel, and all the technology that makes it possible.

Glad to hear so many things discussed, the help already there, the number rescued, DOT, helicopters, going in to re-establish cell phone service, the free disaster call option, warnings to boil water if they have it, clear roads, drop off of food and water, coordination of SO many others coming from other states to help, use of social media to get help where needed, info shared on who to call, where to find info for shelters and more. It looks like good coordination and as more joining in, hope we see a fast recovery as possible.

They don't have a plan. It is impossible to imagine destruction on this scale. And so widespread dire situations all happening simultaniously, this will get much worse God send them help. Give them supernatural wisdom and let every effort meld together to provide miraculous results. Be glorified as the kind, mercifull God that you are.

Nice to see Gov Cooper keeping his shiny shoes clean and dry in Raleigh-🙄 God forbid he show his face to people who need to see and hear him on the ground in these affected areas-we have no representation in Western North Carolina…Lt Gov Mark Robinson did go into the area…thank you! ❤

There is a reason for this season. This is our one and only creator's wrath upon this land. Listen and hear
Return to Father in Heavens' precious salvation from HIS beloved Son
Turn from anything that separates you from HIS spirit and truth.
#That is the only comfort protection and peace.
