LADY BLUE
Leon Russell
Well you're showing me a different side
Even asked if the flame has died
You're getting used to me baby
But you just and wait and see lady
'Cause I've been in love before
And I love you a whole lot more

if you want it to be real good to you
When I'm layin' here makin' love to you
Listen real close to me baby
I want to get it straight right now oh baby
'Cause I love you more and more and more
Lady blue

Sad baby, blue lady
Sing me a love song
I just want you to know that I love you
More and more and more and more

So if you want it to be real good to you
When I'm layin' here makin' love to you
Listen real close to me baby
You just and wait and see lady
I got a whole lot of love to give you
I got a whole life to spend if you'll just let me
sing sweet love songs
Lady blue,
oh sing a love song
Lady blue

This song takes me back to the first time I was in love, or at least thought I was! It WAS the most love a 15yr boy ever knew at that time. I had a lot to learn but hearing this and I'm right back there. Thanks for the memories Leon!

I first saw Leon during the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour. It was their 1st show in Detroit. I went with a big group of friends that all loved Joe Cocker but I will tell you that Leon won a whole lot of fans that night. Both were great but Leon had a stage presence that Joe didn't have. That was one of the greatest concerts I've seen and I still remember it very clearly. Then saw Leon 3 more times, once with the Shelter People, awesome, and the Carney Tour and on other times.. All back when he and I were young. I loved his talent, looks and he always had the best musicians and knew how to put on a show. There will never be one like him again. I hope people will look up all the music he was on, if they don't know about him. He was everywhere back in the day. Thanks for this video, very nice.

Just recently learned about Leon and the Wrecking Crew. I believe that the Wrecking Crew should be in the HOF simply because of the tunes they contributed to and the artists from Frank Sinatra, 5th Dimension, Monkeys, Righteous Brothers, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Sonny and Cher, Ronettes, etc. They are the best !!!. Thank you Leon and RIP.

Thank you Bob...
I can't tell you how for I go back with Leon... no.. I did not know the man...
When I was around 12 years old, I was just really getting into music... in St Louis we had/have a paper for the nightlife... the riverfront times... I was just paging through it, when I read a woman writing about her husband.. and she was describing how much "Song for you" meant to her and her late husband...
Leon Russell, Leon Russell.... where did I hear that name... ?
As it turned out... we had a garage sale, and my aunt was selling her records... she just happened to leave them in our storage... I'll never forget... I got a 45 with the beatles... get back on one side, don't let me down on the other... grabbed up John Denver greatest hits, Stackridge, R.E.O. Speedwagons first album... Nazareth, hair of the dog, and three Leon Russell albums...
I was hooked... I never understood why Leons albums weren't touched...
As the years went by.. I tried turning everybody on to Leon Russell...
Nobody bought it...
I'll be turning 50 this next February, and I'm still a huge Leon Russell fan, and anything to do with "the Wrecking crew"...
About 20 years ago..., Leon played at a country night club in St Louis...
"InCaHoots"... I got there very early, and had the greatest fortune in my life till that time... the whole entire show I was practically at his piano bench... my table sat closer to him than his band... it was an experience to say the least... he didn't smile much.. but was talkative to a point... the show was over... and he shook my hand while holding his cane... it touched me... and it occurred to me that nobody in the whole damn club was really aware we had genius in our midst... not even Leon... he was very humble...
So once again Bob... thank you very much...
And to Elton John who looked him up, brought him back into the lime light and recording studio...
I miss Leon dearly...
R.I.P. king of kings...
You'll never be forgotten... 🎵🎶🎵🎶💚

Now I remember Bob, it was Leon not Perry Como haha that I gave the comment to you. Both 2 of the greats. I kind of like the rougher-style compared to Perry sometimes and I think Leon was treated a little unfairly, and should have made it to 85 at least. I guess maybe because I am a lot younger than the crowd I usually am around. God has blessed me very much and have a wonderful week Bob! - R1. Official Music And Movie Critic SAG
