Akuma no Ko(a child of evil) Lyrics[EN]

An iron bullet is proof of justice.
Whenever I shot I became closer to the hero.
If you close your eyes and touch it,
The evil who has the same body and the same temperature.

Am I not good enough and is he better for you?
There was just a wall.

Don’t cry about the destiny we were born with.
Cause we are all free.

If we have wings like birds,
We could go anywhere.
If we don’t have a place to return to,
We might not be able to go anywhere.

I don’t want to just live.

This world is cruel but I still love you.
Even if I sacrifice everything, I will protect you.
Even if this is a mistake, I don’t doubt it.
What is right is believing in myself strongly.

Damn me and my procrastination; forgive me... oTL

Fun fact: It's Isayama himself that requested the openings and endings have crazy amounts of foreshadowing in them

Mikasa: "In this beautiful cruel world."
Eren: "The world is cruel, but I still love you."
Mikasa: "Just what are we protecting?"
Eren: "No matter what you sacrifice, I will still protect you."

It's heartbreaking to see Mikasa cry, and now it's heartbreaking to see Eren smile. Power couple ig

After watching both endings, I feel as though this final ending is Eren's response to Mikasa in the first ending. Eren is Mikasa's freedom, her idea of beauty in a cruel world and Mikasa is Eren's motivation, his purpose, hence "This world is cruel but I still love you". In the first ed Mikasa asks "What are we going to protect" and here Eren finally answers "Even if I sacrifice everything, I will protect you". The parallels between the endings are incredible, a testament to the masterpiece that Attack on Titan is. Thank you Isayama.

In this song Eren and Mikasa both are present but never seen together feels just like their tragic love story. NEVER MEANT TO BE TOGETHER BUT STILL INSEPARABLE.

Fun fact for anyone who don’t know. The singer just played her song on piano. She said the songs are Eren and Mikasa to each other. I truly believe this was isayamas intention otherwise the songs would not be design the way they are.

Eren in a field of flowers from his childhood to early adulthood (0:52) represents his never changing desire for freedom. Which he finally gained but at the cost of his life, which in return is represented by his disappearance at the end (1:26).
Ymir, who saw the world in the perspective of Mikasa saw only the cruelty of the world (0:58) but Eren eventually led them (Mikasa and Ymir) to freedom. Although Eren never really experienced freedom himself as represented by the bird being trapped in an aviary-like dome at 0:44, but despite not being able to experience the freedom that he so longed for he still found beauty within his freedom less world. Which is represented by the following scenes.
We can also say that the flowers that Eren stepped on are the people outside of Paradis.

The last ed perfectly represented the end of the manga.

1:16 is so beautiful because in the first Ending Mikasa looks at Eren growing up and in combination with the final Ending as edited here she looks at fully grown adult Eren.

It flipped from Eren growing up and walk to Mikasa to Mikasa watching him walked away /cry

The scarf is the freedom that Eren gives to Mikasa, that's why he says "I'll put it on you over and over again" because he's on a loop,

"A hero will sacrifice you to save the world and a villain will sacrifice the world to save you"

Eren took this quote to a whole new level

I still come back to this video and always come to the same realization.

Eren's story wasn't just the dreams of freedom. It was the desire to protect the beauty of his world.

Mikasa...A tragic love story born from the cruelty of a beautiful world.
