I like the openness with which the daughter, Jessica, was able to speak.
Family needs to help each other.

I’m new to the world of dementia with a brand new family member diagnosis, so it’s good for me to see how each of you individually deals with what you didn’t ask for and also how you all interact together. You’ve developed a positive approach. Thanks for sharing!

Humor. My 80+ year old friend was telling me about her 50+ daughter's upcoming heart surgery due to a recent issue her daughter had. Then my friend told me that the doctors said the daughters condition was apparently congenital. Before my friend could go further, I interjected "Oh, so it's YOUR fault, then". My friend and I both laughed, because we also share the same type of humor in stressful situations. Of course, my friend knew that I wasn't reslly placing any blame. Humor can really help lower our stress levels, as long as we recognize how our jokes will be received. Kudos to you all!!!
