SMALL BEDROOM MAKEOVER || BEDROOM TRANSFORMATION || DIY ACCENT WALL

Hi Everyone! Here is my small bedroom makeover! This bedroom transformation features a DIY accent wall, curtain-shortening DIY, interior design tips and more! Accent Wall:

-Board Measurements: 3.5 inches in length, 3/4 inches in depth, and our boards were originally 12 ft in height before we cut them down

What a lovely room - it could easily be used as a main bedroom. My home was built in 1956 and the largest bedroom is 10 x 12, which is tiny compared to today's master/primary bedrooms in newer homes, so your guest room would work very well for a main bedroom in my home. I have a metal French style canopy bed so I'm a fan of the four poster bed you used. I'm also a fan of putting rugs on top of carpeting and smaller rugs on top of larger rugs. SO soft underneath one's feet and speaks to luxury. Thank you for hemming the curtains so they don't get all dusty on the carpet because they're too long and piled up. I hand iron curtains before I put them up (old fashioned and as I'm older it's harder to go up and down the ladder all the time while using a hand steamer), but it makes such a difference in appearance to have non-wrinkled curtains. Those wrinkles don't "naturally fall out" over time, they stay.

Love the transformation! Did such a nice job. For those who want to do this Ikea curtain trimming, WASH your curtains befoe you cut and iron if you ever plan on washing them. They do shrink in the wash. I did this trick a while back on the same Lenda Ikea Curtains and decided to wash them during spring cleaning.... they shrunk about 6 inches in height in the wash and now I have high water curtains.

I love the accent wall and the fact that when you got to the register and it was too expensive you were willing to say no. I've had to do that too, and didn't regret it because the money I saved by going somewhere else paid for the paint for example. Great tip on the curtains. The room turned out beautifully.

I pick 1 and then 2. I personally really like 2 though for me.I live this room. We are doing an accent wall in the master, white shiplap to go with aqua walls on the fireplace, bathroom door and closet door wall. The triple window wall will stay aqua and the wall opposite. We already have a vertical shiplap behind the huge King wrought iron head board. Not into padded headboards like everyone else seems to be. It’s 2/3 up the wall with a ledge and sweet picture of us above the headboard. We live it, then hang the new chandelier ceiling fan, I have fabric to reupholster a small sitting bench beside the vanity and we are done!
