Those convert it first into DC and then high frequency AC. This allows them to use only a very small transformer. Older ones that worked directly on the AC frequency were very heavy.

Your drawing shows a conventional power supply. A switching power supply works entirely different. If the sticker says “100–240 V” it must be a switching power supply. Besides, you got the bridge rectifier wrong in your drawing.

I have a guitar amp from the UK can I switch the power cord? and if so which cord would you recommend?

I have a simple cord with a light bulb socket on the other end for lighting a Christmas ornament with a european 2 prong plug on it. It is just the plug and does not look like yours in the video. Can I just cut off the plug and connect a U.S. style 2 prong plug and have the bulb still work safely in the 110 outlet?

What if you accidentally change load with neutral, does it really matter??

Sorry, that rectifier is wrong. It‘s either gonna grill the diodes or the transformer, depending on which is stronger.
