Diablo 1 - How hard Hell is on Hell Difficulty

This is a video I made to show how hard the game actually is. The character is 46 Level out of 50 and with very strong stats. Not the absolute optimal gear but still decent.

So like my friend put the idea in my head to try Diablo on hell diff (INCEPTION) and I damn near almost did it a few times, that is to say I kept getting stun locked on level 8. Then I found the Ring of Engagement and managed to clear up to level 9 with my level 35 Sorcerer with ALL spells maxed, although I noticed something strange with chain lighting once it's maxed out. Anyway I beat down level 9 with relative ease and think 'this might be it', I've got the Diablo music turned off with Ecstasy of Gold playing in the background, nothing can stop me! Except for a dozen Obsidian Lords on level 10, all apparently immune to everything. Crap.

Well I had a good run; I had just reinstalled it because the thought of beating D1 on hell mode was stuck in my mind. There is no shame in defeat if you gave it your all.

You're not meant to play the higher difficulties until you finish the game on Normal first. I don't think the game allows you to anyway. I remember playing all three classes on each difficulty (I was obsessed with the game).
The rogue was my favourite. I found her the easiest to use. I had a bow called Windforce if I recall and it would knock enemies back.
The warrior is tough but because he has to get up close, he ends up being the most difficult because of all the ranged enemies as the game progresses.
The sorceror is really bad at first but once you get his magic high enough and the right spells he is apparently the most powerful. You have to have Mana Shield otherwise he just dies right away due to his low health.

I would dump all those uniques for some better armor bro...and max dexterity which is crucial to your blocking, anything below 100 is way too low, you should be at around 110-120 dex at hell diff at this time ...and: positioning is everything...

How do you get the version to be 1.0? Whenever I install the base version is 1.08. Newer copies come loaded with higher patch maybe? Also in v1.00 when you play are the stat elixirs available?

Try finishing this without enhancing any of the character attributes
(For example, Lv 46 Rogue, points to distribute 225)
Strength 20 Magic 15 Dexterity 30 Vitality 20.
I've found Zodiac items, and armor class 186. No deaths.
You can not stun lock Diablo, but you can keep it away with Windforce, as it has the same effect as Bear items.

I got 7 monsters randomized around Lv43 Rogue right from the entryway of catacombs level 7, mud mans and magma demons. When the level loaded, they were already attacking from all 7 directions, from the nearest squares. (8th square up one level, rogue in the middle)

you think thats hard? the crypts on hell difficulty are insane, the only way i could beat it was by teleporting from room to room avoiding all the shit.

I know its kind late but, you needed at least 300 AC at your level, at your ac you get stun locked! and your cth at least 250%, you should have farmed church and cata get some gold and shop at grisw, better armour and rings The sword is gg though !

The Hell mod made by Mordor also exists, u should try that and see what hard really is.And btw bro ur damage is utter trash.and whats with fool's crest?try finding some kind of helmet first.

I know it seems it, but it's not that hbad. Your character was just underpowered. Hard=Diablo the Hell on Doom difficulty

No wonder you're dying bro.. You got the Fool's Crest and Empyrean Band equipped. Those are level 4-6 items on normal difficulty.
Do yourself a favour and dupe that ring of the heavens at least.

and you got a lucky monster roll, those are "easy" ... d1 hell solo is for "only" sorc with apo staff, other chars suck to many... 2 rouge with windforce is "playable", 2 warror with better gear is "less palyable".. ig you got any succubus you just busted... warrios cant kill them
