I sincerely hope Saber ignores the whining from the Fortnight crowd. Fortnight has done irreparable damage to the gaming industry, and should in no way serve as a model for other games to adopt. Live service as a model for full-price games should have never been an option, and the obsession with concurrent player numbers has rotted peoples brains. I don't want battle passes, I don't want daily quests, I don't want companies to weaponize the fear of mission out. I just want fun games.

Dude, SM2 is nice for what it is. This is a single-player game first with an additional online component second. It is by all means a game out of the 2010's school of game design. Players nowadays are so used to the live-service slop that they cannot make the difference anymore. *smh*

Space Marine 2 is primarily a single player game - it doesnt need to stay alive for years to come. For the game industry to be healthy, live service must end. Complete it, then buy a new game. The way it used to be.

I pray they dont give in and move to a fully live service model. Engagement should be irrelevant for a game like this.

these changes to Custodes and Astartes aren't wanted because it violates core, set lore in the universe, and changes a fundamental element of the factions. it's also, more specifically, unwanted because it's not done to add anything; it's done purely for a real-world ideological reason. it's done for people who quite often actually hate 40k, and just want to rob you of something you enjoy.

Nah, this is not a live service game. People need to get that shit out of their heads. This a modernized 360/PS3 third person shooter with a multiplayer and coop suite.
