The house on wheels is a thing. They move entire existing buildings by putting them on wheeled frames and then place them somewhere else.

That big house on wheels isn't intended to be a manufactured home. It is a house that was in the process of being moved. My grandfather actually used to do that as his job. They lift the house up off it's foundation, drive the trailer under it, secure it in place, and then transport it to it's new location or orientation where it gets lowered onto it's new foundation.

Crafting into stacks gives zero experience now. It was an easy way to get quick levels, but I’m glad they nerfed it. It was silly to get exp for that.

Yep. Seen a section on highway shut down while they were moving an old farm house. Pulled it off the rock foundation and moved it to a full walkout basement on a lake front property about 80 mile from where it sat for over a 100 years.

One tip I've noticed is disassembling inactive vending machines gives both forged iron and steel. Is a good source early on. Generators and table saws too.

I think it's worth keeping extra cooking pots and placing them strategically around the map so that you can boil water in different spots if you have to. Not that you will likely have water issues.

I'm kinda glad they did the nerf this time, it was a bit too OP the original way, although of course they might have overdone the nerf a little bit. And it gives the opportunity for starting over and trying the first few days again if you weren't happy with how it went. Also like the other commenters have said that is a regular house being moved, not a mobile home. I don't think it's as common as it used to be, and I guess you probably can't do it with houses in a city because there isn't room, but it is a sight to see in real life, and it takes a long time to do because they can only move very slowly. Thanks for sharing the fun!

The New Life Hope Cabin is my favorite solo/duo sized POI to turn into a base. House, mine, crafting area, garage, and a wall

Use your shovel on hay bales…. It’s way faster. And as far as the house on the truck… you can move regular houses on trailers not just manufactured homes. It’s super expensive and uncommon, but it can and has been done many times.

Kage with time it takes to craft and cook multiple cooking pots, grills, forges and workbenches may be a benefit

Day 2 and you already have a bike. I'm on day 4 and I still don't have one. I focused on building myself a home base though. I've got a nice little 9X9 across from Trader Hugh. He specializes in weapons, so I figure that's a good place to make my home. Now I'm focusing on quests, so I should get a bike soon. Nice episode Kage. Keep'em coming.

My dad was a house mover when I was a kid and I got to help him move a few. If there wasn't a window in the existing foundation in the right place, we had to bust out the foundation there so we could put beams under it. That's when I learned how to swing a sledge... fun stuff but a lot of hard work.

Actually you can put regular houses on "wheels" and move them.

You can craft a mining helmet to put that mod into, it’s considered light armor and the materials are easy to get.

Glad to see episode 2 has you getting the same crappy trader rewards I got offered for all but one of my Tier 1 quests this morning. They've definitely nerfed things.
