My mom passed away on Christmas Day after a late stage diagnosis in July. She had stage 4b T-cell angioimmunoblastic lymphoma as well as MDS and HLH. I miss her so much. She had just turned 60 on November 9th.

Cold sweats, hot shivers, no get up n go, no energy to spare or stamina

Lack of sleep, itchy skin, can be overwhelming, you put on a brave face for the family

Stomach bloated and flatulence, without any influence, you fart and you burp uncontrollably

Out of breath and tired, in a world of your own, thinking how to keep hold of your sanity

It's so surreal, these things that you feel, and friends will show their true colours

The ones that you love, will be there for your good, and treat you like they are your mothers

Loved ones are worried, is this the end, of the one they love so dearly

The fight is on, the battle begins, the future no longer viewed clearly

It's just the start, it will take time, test your strength and mental ability

At times you may need, to be alone and daydream, finding solace in your own tranquility

Your physical strength will pull you through, although it will be diminished

Stay mentally strong, for however long, it takes until it's finished

The treatment is hard, makes you feel bad, but it's eatng away at the issue

Immune system suffers, take care where you go, avoid anyone with a sniffle and tissue

And in the end you'll find, your own peace of mind, as your progress is shared periodically

The therapy is working, destroying not shirking, eating away at the problem methodically

Lymphoma is a tricky one. Mine started extranodal, which means outside of the lymphatic system as an ulcer/tumor in the stomach. Bloodwork is not a good diagnostic for lymphoma. Ultrasound and CT did not show enough to raise concern. It took an endoscopy ordered by my primary care after an ER visit to raise red flags from the doctors. 6x8 cm ulcer with pigmentation and tissue necrosis. Biopsy identified cancer. Bone marrow biopsy, PET scan, Port implant, and R-CHOP all started within 3 weeks of initial diagnosis.

At age 85 I recently tested positive for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Large B-Cell. I'm waiting to be scheduled for chemo. Decades earlier I was infected twice with Epstein-Barr virus, which is a frequent precursor.

It occurs to me that Pola + RCHP should only be given when a patient has a solid support network--better chance of catching the signs of infection & getting the patient to the hospital quickly). I would like to see a segment on various supports cancer patients have access to, and the reality of how *much* support a cancer patient needs. Some of us are either loners and/or don't have family near us. Thanks!

I had very hard time to find a good lymphoma cancer doctor, very depressed and hopeless

Can wish my Dr. went straight to biopsy and PET scan - I have had the superclavicular nodes 2 and growing for almost 6 mos. ! Yet, even though my Dr.s face dropped when she saw them...and many more all over my neck and if it's possible my eye? or sinus? my eye hurts and won't stop watering, feels clogged. Anyway..I am in Canada and they have me waiting for CT scan AND on urgent basis, but more days have gone by...but I fear they will make me wait weeks...or more - I am getting very nervous about time. My guts have hurt for over a year...anyway, I am on the track now, but I've known something is wrong for many months. i NEED GODSPEED. My mom died early 60s and my Grandmother same age as I am now, both cancers...both were put off...told it was something else. Sorry for the rant here...thank you for this channel, so important.

What type of Diffuse Large B Cell did you have? There is the aggressive form and germinal body cell. I know that affects the treatment and prognosis.

I WAS TREATED WITH R-CHOP FOR DLBCL IN 2007 AND HAD MY LAST FOLLOW-UP IN 2010 ...MY INSURANCE CHANGED AND I HAD TO GET ANOTHER DR. SO I WANT TO KNOW SHOULD I REQUEST A VISIT WITH A ONCOLOGIST? I AM 73 YRS. OLD WITH SEVERAL AILMENTS.
