Too many people seem to completely misunderstand what’s going on. FIA’s problem with this is that it ‘potentially’ can be used by the driver to change the ride height in parc ferme. Not that it actually was, or even can be, done by the driver. As of right now, no one is alleging or has shown proof it ever was used for that. RB isn’t denying it’s used to make adjusting the ride height easier. They are saying the driver can’t do it. A mechanic still needs to do it. It’s just an easier way for a mechanic changing the ride height than the traditional way. Now, if it’s proven they did it in parc ferme then it’s illegal and they will be penalized.

So, let me get this straight, Red Bull have a different means for adjusting ride height that they could potentially use between qualifying and the race, ie when it's in the garage. So, basically, when any team could also change theirs by whatever means/ tool their car requires. What a nothing story.

Check how "the device" works and if it is controllable from the cockpit
if no= no problem
If yes= ban it for everyone and check the blackbox for signs of aerodynamic inconsistencies

It was the damper on the Red Bull tea tray that caught my attention during winter testing. While other teams have either a stack of belleville washers or juat a traditional spring and damper there, the Red Bull unit looked altogether more complex. It was a completely enclosed unit with a hose connected to one side and wires seemingly coming from it. Pictures of it can be found under "Red Bull floor damper". I'd love to know what's going on inside that unit

In Parce Ferme, it is allowed to make adjustments to the car for driver comfort - pedal position, seat belts, cockpit padding etc.

The argument is that although work undertaken in Parce Ferme is done while the FIA are watching, a mechanic has the ability to adjust the height of the bib without being seen (as it’s hidden near the pedals), while they are legally adjusting other items for driver comfort.

It is not known (and will never be known unless a mechanic admits it) if this was ever actually done, but fitting a special seal to the cover prevents this moving forward.
