Headspace and mediation have done wonders for my well-being so honestly it's completely worth trying out :)

I spent 5 days on a deserted island 50miles of the coast of central America on the Pacific side with no food, no water and no shelter and only limited gear.

Video should be named: “Dude drinking coconut water”

Tip for coconut. Remove the husk after drinking the water. Then roast it. It will produce some oil. Put oil on skin. Instant moisturizer and insect repellent

I love how he washes up to shore and acts totally surprised and then is like, "Welp, time to get my gear" and walks over and grabs a full backpack and a kit lol

Imagine someone actually ends up deserted on this island and sees all the coconuts already cut open😂

Those crabs will be talking about you for years: "Remember when that Canadian guy showed up and chucked out all of those perfectly good coconuts?"
"Remember? I've still got some of the coconut in my freezer".

Hey, algorithm just showed me this video randomly, I’ve never seen any of your videos. 1 hour in the video and I’m so submerged and mesmerized! Awesome work bud

tip for future: eating too much coconut can give you indigestion and you shouldn't rely on it as your only food source

Hey man. Just watched this. You knowing you only had 5 days surely made this mentally easier but, your knowledge saved you. I may have eaten that fruit. So glad you showed that. Now I know to be vigilant in my journeys if ever I share a circumstance as this.

Learn to make a fish trap, its easy. Make two cone-shaped baskets with that rope and sticks by sharpening the entery end on the smaller cone leaving the bottom open so fish can enter and obviously the smaller cone must be open on both ends. The larger cone is closed at the small end and open at the large end. Insert the smaller cone inside the larger basket cone and fit them tightly. Put food/bait in the basket with a rock and rope attached. Drop the basket/fish trapand you will never go hungry. Also, learn desalination. You have a fire and plenty of trash, use it.

Some things I learned: Xander is way more jacked than I thought, tropical suits him more than I would have thought, he needs to do some more of these long form video's where he's out of the snow and Canadian outback, he's funnier than I thought too. Good stuff Xander!

My primary takeaway from this video is simply how much time and effort it takes a "primitive man" to simply not die. You spend the majority of your waking moments just trying to get water and food and not be killed by the elements. Quite amazing and a real testament to how impactful the concept of cultivating plants and animals was. Without that, we'd still all be scrabbling for the basics.

Wow, really interesting video! Really shows how much work is involved with basic survival tasks. Most people probably don’t realize how much additional effort is involved with filming as well.

If you want a coconut that is fully fill with water you gotta search for the green one. Also the size of the coconut does make a difference in volume too.
