Discovering KLM 737 Business Class: Old But Gold?

'In this video we'll hope aboard a KLM Boeing 737 on a short Business Class flight Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport through to London Heathrow.

Interesting one for sure. On the face of it, it was a pretty retro service, a million miles away in so many ways from my recent experience aboard Air France. That said, it all worked rather well. Despite the older aircraft, there was tonnes of room onboard and being upfront, things weren't too loud aboard the old bird. The crew did a fab job from start to finish and this excellent service was also twinned with some impressive onboard F&B offerings.

In terms of areas for improvement, it would be great to see KLM introduce newer aircraft with WiFi as this will get more frustrating for passengers if missing as time goes on. It would however be fantastic to see them retain similar legroom, at least in the Business Class cabin aboard this aircraft's eventual replacement...one can hope.

Love the look of the Lounge certainly worth arriving very early for your flight to make full use of it, considering the age of the 737 it looked pretty good, breakfast presentation and quantity looked good but so agree with you about the wooden cutlery that's a definite no no in business.

TbD - retro is right! I love it. Really like the breakfast presentation, cutlery aside. Did I read/see somewhere that they charge to eat in the lounge restaurant? Regardless, super lounge. Great report, as always.

You definitely need to return to the KLM lounge in AMS to dine in the Blue restaurant- it's fantastic in my opinion. I find KL's shorthaul business class a bit bland- the presentation of the inflight meal in a box with plastic containers just doesn't feel premium to me. I'm hoping when their A321s come into service their offering will be refreshed and updated.
