***Link to New Release of the intro song "Waterfowl" by PORTIA***

Thanks to you all who voted on the community column. After a recent move and settling in I could finally put this together.
The video opens with a song I wrote in the tuning we are looking at.
This is mostly personal philosophy in my discovery of playing like this but I hope there are bits of knowledge here you can find useful!

I love that the sonic changes in the intro song were technique driven, and the fx pedal settings remained the same. A goal I am working on myself

Nice playing! Keep it up, I just subscribed.

Blixa Bargeld uses DADAAD and calls it the monochord. The last Sonic Youth album is mostly in CGDGCD. Robert Fripp uses CGDAEG, which you can't use a standard pack of strings on for the high G, but I like to play it at CGDAEE which I can get away with, with a set of 10s. First VU album used a unison tuning Lou Reed called The Ostriche from his song by the same title.

My guy really just casually opened his video with maybe the coolest guitar part I've ever heard. You've got me wanting to learn, so I guess it was effective lol. That's a sub from me.

For all the people that don't know yet, check out the band Biffy Clyro. From my country Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. I'd recommend the older albums and also b-sides. Thank me later!

What is the precise tuning? I'm not sure the exact letter of the tuning that you said. Is it D-G-D-G-C-B?E?D? What's the last letter of the tuning?

Good to hear it. I am so afraid to play alternate tunings because I don't want to be called out for ripping off Sonic Youth. But on the flip side... Someone out there ripped off Robert Johnston? So fuck it...Alternate tunings it is for me! No one is ripping off anyone... it is just influence. And SY used a "tool" called alternate tunings.
