The opening scene is definitely not 1981. Break dancing wasn't even introduced into this part of CA until late 1983, around summer or fall. Pop locking was quite new to most visitors to Venice in 1981, as shown around 2:13-3:24. The song isn't even the original recording in that part of that video. It's actually part of German documentary. The song they're pop locking to is Cameo's Shake Your Pants, when funk was beginning to reach it's peak.Two years later, it all went downhill.
