Dune part 2 is now out and there's a lot of things in the film that we need to talk about. Packing a massive ending I was discuss how this is probably gonna play out in the future. Looking at Dune Messiah we have a fair idea and Denis Villeneuves confirmed the scripts almost done. It teases a darker future for the Dune-iverse and I think that it's gonna culminate and create an incredible trilogy.

Throughout this video we're gonna break the book down and also talk about how we think some things may be changed. Heavy Spoilers ahead so if you don't want any spoilers then I highly recommend that you turn off now.

All I hope is we get Paul having a vision of his son, “The God Emperor”, in final worm form before he exiles to the desert.

I hope Part 3 really spends some time showing the tremendous death toll of Paul's Jihad on the conquered planets and... on the Fremen.

A Children of Dune movie would be a little weird but it's already a little weird so I don't think that would be a big deal. Now a God Emperor would be weird AF.

Paul in the films has already saved Chani from the events of Dune Messiah. He did this by taking the water of life two years earlier. And thereby turning Chani against him. Saving her from dying in childbirth. We see him observing the visions of their timeline from the books. And has chosen another path where Chani is safe.

That's my theory anyway. THIS Paul had read the books in these visions we see. Which is why he's sad. He knows she will come to understand it one day. But she will never become his concubine.

She's now the anti-Paul character. A wild card we have no idea how she'll be played in part 3. But we are in for a surprise. No question.

Leto doesn't evolve into a Sandworm.
He allows a baby sandworm to fuse with his body to gradually cover him as an outer symbiote shield to create a near invulnerable shell.
He then alters is bio chemistry as BG are able to do but choose not to so that he can remain alive for thousands of years.

Alia has to loose her shit, aka Children. Even a reference to Leto II as a worm will be epic.

Love this. I think Denis is going to nix the time jump in Messiah. I think Chani will return pregnant. And I think we'll pick up from the point in the book where Irulan joins the conspiracy and attempts to terminate Chani's pregnancy. Also I think alia will stay a baby and communicate to Paul in flashes forward like she did in part 2. The romance with Hayt wont be a focal point (its more a setup for children of dune anyhow). I know folks won't like these predictions but I think these changes are needed to make the messiah adaptation make sense (and also not have to do weird aging or de-aging for the actors). Regardless, Denis and team are master storytellers and I'm fully onboard with the choices they've made in these adaptations. We will always have the books. Film-Dune is its own magnificent creation. Excited for Dune Messiah!

LOVED Part 2! Just saw it last night and was blown away. SOOOO close to the book despite the few changes that were made. And I honestly enjoyed the changes.

My ONLY quibble is that I wish the Bene Gesserit's physical powers had been played up on screen to the same level that their mental abilities were. I get that almost everyone on screen is a trained fighter at the top of the food chain (Harkonnens, Fremen, Atreides, Sardaukar) but I just wanted a TAD bit more to distinguish the Bene Gesserit from the bunch, the way they're depicted in the books.

All in all, though, I'm content with it and DYING to see it again. I KEPT chills throughout the movie.

I really liked the part 2 but i cant lie, my goal is seeing Dune messiah on the big screen, i think its the greatest part.

Children is my second best dune book, growing up it was God Emperor (I obviously like Leto II ) but as I got older the story in Children just stuck on me . (Goes without saying Dune is the best Frank Herbert book)

When Herbert died his son continued the universe which created the Butlerian Jihad, the Honored Matres, the development of no ships etc. The real twist is when Leto II basically abdicates thus relinquishing control of humanity which brings the story to a close. But heres a hint to those who havent read the books: the thinking machines never left and the real hero is not who you think it is.
