The note about the gas not controlling the speed was REALLY helpful. As I'm learning I have been really reluctant to up the gas when doing manoeuvres in case I shoot forwards. This is soo good to know!

I really like your teaching style! Your really informative, pick up on common errors and provide solutions and alternatives in a really simple way. I cant wait to watch the rest of your videos now. Cheers x

Omg nobody told me about these details of gas + clutch pedals, so I was always confused when my instructor told me to add gas every time when I needed to move just a little bit because I thought I'd go too fast by adding gas! It's so important to know details like that to understand how to really control the car. Richard, you are the best!!!

I’m 24 & I just bought my first manual here in the U.S. & not a lot of people drive manual here anymore. This was super helpful, thanks!

This is exactly what nobody ever explained to me, I
passed the test(!?), got my licence and didn't drive for 18 years because I knew that I coudn't control the car at all.People say that I lack practise and I do, but also I was not told any of these things .I was paying for my lessons but it's expected to understand this on instinct.
Thanks for the information.😃

Watching this and just now learning about the ECU. My instructor teaches me in a Kia Picanto that has an ECU, but I just bought my first car which is an '03 KA that most likely doesn't. Really glad I clicked on this

The point about the heel on the floor was SO helpful, my first instructor didn't explain it to me thoroughly soI always keep my heel on the floor trying to find the bite and the pedal position slips just as you explained - I only just realised from your explanation why this was happening! Thanks so much.

You're absolutely amazing !!! I'm from India, and learning clutch control is so much essential here because of extreme traffic density. I watched your video at least 4-5 times and practiced clutch control which had immensely helped me gaining accuracy and command over it. Just like you said, lifting the clutch the same height as the thickness of a schilling gets the job done. I felt so related as I also used to make the same mistake of using it in reverse direction. Thanks a lot again for making this video.

I'm learning how to do this with not much success and it really affects my confidence.😭Small nudges to your clutch!! Now that's something I'll try next time. Thank you so much.

I just want to say thank you man!
All my driving instructor did was yell at me when I asked how to go slow, so this was an incredibly useful video.
thank you.

This is a very important technique, especially in traffic jams when you do not necessarily need to stop completely.

You are the best teacher out there because you don't take anything from the learner's perspective for granted. You explain it! I wish Colchester was a bit closer :-)
