We’re baaaaaack (from Paris that is!) We took our three kids to the Olympic Games and made a month-long trip out of it where we adventured through France, London and Italy. It was incredible in so many ways and we’re beyond thankful for our time as a family but if you’re a parent out there you know that traveling anywhere with three kids can bring a whole different set of challenges. Overall, our trip was amazing and we wanted to spend this episode answering some of the questions you had for us! We hope you enjoy :)
Love you guys,
Shawn and Andrew

I'll never get over the way you compliment her, Andrew. She is amazing and I'm so happy that you remind her of that.

I applaud you both for putting time with the kids and each other first. What a beautiful example to set! Thank you. I’m 45, single and no kids, but this encourages me!

My mother made it a point to have our family travel each summer as well, even if it was in the USA. We’d take road trips to different states and go visit national parks, museums, all sorts. I was so grateful they let us see the world. I HIGHLY recommend it

I love how you love your kids above everything else! As a mom of grown children, the time with young ones is precious and goes so quickly. You’ll be forever grateful for these memories!

I was anxiously awaiting your coffee drink spilling on the white chair. But I imagine a person who does 22 flips in the air over a 4 inch beam 5 feet off the ground, things like balancing a coffee drink on a white chair arm don't stress you out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Like you said, “This video may have been more for you two, ” but it showed us how proud you are of each other and your children. This video showed how much love and respect you guys have. I enjoyed hearing your different perspectives from this trip. 💚

The way y’all communicate is beautiful. Shawn asking if you needed help or support in that moment, then KNOWING what you needed, is EVERYTHING. The way you both told the story, you have so much love even in these insane and frustrating situations.

I love how you include your kids in as much experiences as you could, aside from work! You approach everything as a family unit. Too many parents still want to be couples. Couple time is important, but you two are parents to your kids first & foremost. You recognize that they are your priority, & that is lacking in our society too much. You two are an inspiration!!!!

Experience is the best teacher! Traveling with your children while they're young will teach them that not everything will always go to plan and they'll learn how to adapt to situations. It's a learning experience for the parents as well!

Children watch how their parents face difficult situations. You grow closer as a family getting to go new places together.

Nurse here- All 7 of my kids got croup.. it is sooo scary. I always opted for the dexamethasone IM that lasts 3 days, gets them over the worst hump. The oral version didn’t help as well or as fast. I had one of mine gave to be rushed in an ambulance. Glad all is well now. Going in the bathroom and turning the shower on hot and just sitting in the bathroom while the steam is in there can help along with taking them out in the cold and keeping them upright helps as well. Just from a nurse and a mom with kids with croup.

Traveling with kids that younger shapes them to be phenomenal travels and go with the flow people for life! My eldest grew up in Germany, we were stationed there, and he can handle anything because he has been traveling since 5 weeks old and his younger brother learned by watching him handle anything like ok whatever let’s just make it work. It is a lesson that is o so worth it!!

I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with work, family commitments and travel at the moment but this is next level. As a mom to two energetic small kids, Shawn, I am amazed you can handle all of this without loosing it. This gives me more confidence that I can handle my hectic next week! Great job for doing all of this, and thank you family and team again for their support!

Italians LOVE children. We spent 10 days there last summer and everyone telling us “they are our future” - kissing them, making small talk, etc

Our kids traveled extensively when they were young. My husband was active duty military and we had two overseas assignments. One when they were very little and another when they were in the middle of their childhood years. There were some trips that were a little rough (carrying two strollers over the Venice canal bridges), but overall they are more culturally aware, more into world news, and just more well-rounded. When you have to move and travel with a lot of luggage (plus pets) you learn to let the little stuff go more. I will never regret the time we spent together making memories and how close those shared memories and time together grew us together as a family. We still love doing things together even if now our travels are more stateside since my husband's retirement. The only thing that made it hard on them was how classmates in their schools sometimes didn't get what they were talking about because of their wealth of experience living overseas. Now that they are older, that doesn't affect them, thankfully. Keep the memories alive, talk about the things you've done together, it helps build family culture and closeness. The Bucket List family has some amazing tips on traveling with small kids. They've traveled extensively with their 3 children for years. Personally, I thought the travel days were a little tough, but the vactioning/exploring days made up for the travel days.

Love this show. So many nuggets. I hope people understand you don’t have to travel on this level but anything you do with your kids there will be great moments that will be priceless.

Such an interesting trip! I kept waiting for Shawn's ice-coffee to get knocked off the chair. Good job with that too! 🤣

Family culture built on spiritual values!!!! YES!!!! You owe no one explanations for how you do your family. What a blessing to see you live out your intentions, and how blessed your extended family and team are to be able to "tag along" on the journey!!! Kudos to East Family
