Paris Olympics Recap: Failures, Controversies & Milestones | First Sports With Rupha Ramani

The 2024 Paris Olympics which lasted more than two weeks had its own highs and lows. It started with the hype of being the greenest Olympics but soon the criticism followed. From the opening ceremony in river Seine to athletes leaving the Olympics village due to poor facilities, the Paris Games came under the scanner for all the wrong reasons. But it also had some inspiring moments on the field. Arshad Nadeem broke the Olympics record, Simone Biles made a comeback after sexual abuse trauma of Tokyo Olympics and Noah Lyles had a photo finish in the 100m dash. For the Indian contingent Paris Olympics were a mixed affair. While Manu Bhaker, Neeraj Chopra & the men's hockey team scripted history, the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat in 50 kg women's wrestling was a heartbreak that shook everyone. On a lighter note, Olympics 2024 also saw some athletes become social media sensations because of their antics on the field. Phd in Art History here, It wasn’t the last supper. This is incorrect. Do some research. It is inspired by Le Festin des Dieux which means Feast of the Gods. The painting depicts the gods assembled on Mount Olympus for a banquet to celebrate the marriage of Thetis and Peleus. The Last Supper comparison is from uneducated people on the internet.
