Recorded 22 September 1963 London, Greenwich Borough Hall. Released under the 'Concert Artist' ‎label in 1966 – LPX 8015. Sorry for the telephone sound, but the audio sounded like it was recorded next to a construction site (I'm not exaggerating), and I had to restore it with amateur equipment.

Holy fook that was amazing, I've always held Vladimir Ashkenasi (sp?) as the best at this piece for 20 years, this is way better, propper fluid motion, gentle where required but with true brutality in the 3rd quarter set up to the end, bar 34 onwards, as it should be, stunning. I can only dream of how Rachmaninoff would have done it. If I had a time machine that would be my 2nd call after watching him do his rach 3 live.
