My dad had dementia, and throughout middle school and the start of high school he would sometimes ask who I was, most of the time he would fight off the dementia in order to remember me and my mom, now he is gone, but not suffering. In a weird way despite being a Yandere its somehow wholesome. Despite her no longer remembering herself or even what she looks like, she never forgot her love for her partner.

I didn't realize he married the yandere. He genuinely loves and cares for her despite having that quirky feature of being a yandere. I just saw she has a wedding ring on. He seems upset that she can't even remember who he was and wants her to know he exist to love her. This is heartbreaking. Even if she's a yandere, she don't deserve this knowing the fact the guy really loved her. I know yandere stories typically have the densest men out there.
