I remember when Serie A was the biggest league in the world. Now you have Juventus to win the league, and Milan and Inter, 2 former giants who have won the CL in the last decade, fighting for the last Europa League spot.

Italian clubs are shrewd even when they spend big. Apart from the Mendieta transfer to Lazio, history shows that all the other players were actually bargains. Inzaghi won two champions leagues for / with Milan, and Buffon has repaid Juventus many times over. Batistuta was instrumental in Roma finally landing the title etc!
