If people actually watched Milner week in week out, then they'd realise that he's worth the transfer fee. Such an underrated player for Man City.

Rooney is worth every single penny. What a player we got for that sort of money.

barkley and sterling will soon be on this list. Embarrassing list, no wonder England is seen as a joke with andy carroll being the most expensive signing

I paused it at Wayne Rooney to think of 4 English players bought for more than him, I got Ferdinand and I couldn't for my life think of anyone else, when they came up I was just shaking my head at how much these clubs paid for Milner, Shaw and Carrol, damn ridiculous

Ouch! Didn't realized £35 million was paid for Carroll, all l can say is ouch!

Crikey! Just imagine how much would Owen, Gerrard, Matt Le Tissier, Alan Shearer, John Terry, Lampard, Scholes, Les, etc, cost if they were to be sold in their prime in this generation.

Also Lallana's desires to win trophies, in fact I just realised most of these expensive English players haven't won much silverware with the exception of Beckham & Ferdinand

Andy Carroll was never going to be worth 35 million, but in fairness to him, injuries and poor management by Dalglish meant he never really got to show what he could do for Liverpool. There were signs in the second half of his only full season there that he could be a really decent player for us.

The list seems a bit too bland...if only Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes, Terry, Cole, had been potentially sold for a higher price. *sigh*

The funniest thing is Andy Carrol come to Liverpool to be the star and Suarez come like a promise
