Last week we took you through the process of disassembling a Whirlpool Top-Load Dryer. This week, we'll show you the similar process, but this time we'll be showing you how to open up a Front-Load Dryer.

This video saved me from having to replace my dryer. We couldn't reach anyone for repair, and we use our dryer daily. Because of its age, I was about to go to the Big Box and buy a new one, when I figured it couldn't hurt to watch a video or two. Luckily for me, I landed on yours. A fifteen dollar part (and about 90 minutes) later, we are back in business. So grateful to you for your careful, step-by-step instructions. (A belt replacement, by the way - the "Fits most Whirlpool 27-inch dryer" belt)

Great video! My dryer would not spin and kept stopping even with the lightest loads. The video helped me a lot so I bought the kit from PartSelect and had a friend help me install the 4 rollers, pully-wheel and the drum belt which took us about 2 hours. Now my dryer works perfectly! BTW, It's exactly like this one but uses gas. Saved me a lot of money by fixing it myself, thanks PartSelect couldn't have done it without you! Oh yeah almost forgot, I spent just under $60 with shipping and tax and received it in two days, just before Christmas! 😅

The hardest part of replacing my belt pulley and roller wheels was finding a video of the same model Duet Dryer that i had. Thank you for posting this, it made disassembly and reassembly a breeze!

This video was very helpful. The f01 code I found to be more of a PC Board Design Issue, the pad on the pc board was burnt considerably . I cleand the pc board and cleard away about a 1/4" of the copper trace and connected a short piece of 18 gauge straping wire around the Relay post and ran it down the trace and soldered it back up . cleaned the carbon arc marks on the inside of the white plastic housing and re-installed it back in the dryer . No parts needed just a PC Board Fix . Dryer working fine now .
I used Brake clean and a small paint brush to clean up the housing worked very good and did not attack the the plastic . Thanks for the excellent video .

Thank you SO MUCH, Steve! I had the dryer halfway apart but could not figure out how to detach the control panel. Was ready to either call a repairman or get out the 2 pound ball peen hammer :-). That front panel was a goner for me, those clips are terrible, but got to the idler eventually, replaced the wheel and some drum wheels as well. Had to do redo the f01 solder job again and all was good. This really was super helpful

Great video, a big help, thanks. The metal clips around the cowl were the big problem for me. It may have been previously removed by a former owner but the barbs seemed slightly bent and half the clips snapped off their permanent mounts in the cowling when I removed it. I was able to snap them back in place but they came off again when I tried to snap it back in place, with several of them lodged in the collar around the door. So I had to half-disassemble the whole machine again to get those out. Superglued them to the cowling but a few still broke free when I tried to install it, so I decided to just live with a somewhat loose cowling. But I was able to replace the tension pulley and stop the squeak.
