1. Join or create a team.
2. Solo is great too but don't forget to interact with the community.
3. Make a devlog when you're done.
4. Relax and have fun, don't be too hard on yourself.
5. Work normal hours, don't burn yourself out.
6. Try new things.
7. Submit your game even if it's incomplete or buggy.
8. Be honest AND kind when giving feedback.
9. Come up with simple ideas.
10. Prototype with simple graphics. Check the gameplay first then polish.
11. Don't spend too much time on ideas and talking, start making the game.
12. Have someone outside the team playtest the game.
13. Make the game easy to play for yourself, otherwise it will be too hard for the players.
14. Extremely short games are fun, focus on quality rather than length.
15. Finish the game a couple hours before the game jam closes.
16. Give lots of feedback and ratings once the jam is over.
17. Winning the jam is not the most important thing.
18. Create a new project and open all your software before the theme is announced.
19. Meditate to clear your mind.
20. Don't give up, it's never too late to finish the game.
21. If you don't like to make art, sounds, music etc. and are not interested in learning download assets but don't forget to mention it.
22. Spend at least 1 hour on polishing.
23. Set goals. Why are you taking part in this jam?
24. If you're low on motivation watch some great game jam behind the scenes clips.
25. Make game jamming a fun hobby.
26. Make your game easy to play, put it on an accessible platform like web browser.
27. Avoid long texts explaining your game.
28. Start working even when motivation is low. Motivation comes with momentum.
29. Stay focused & avoid distractions.

Brain tip: Your brain works in 90-minute cycles. In between you will require a pause, whether you take a walk, grab a coffee or take a nap. This way you will spend less unproductive time. Additionally, after these pauses, you'll be more likely to get new ideas. That is, you'll be more likely to suddenly come up with a solution for any problem.

Amazing tip! Keeping it simple and making sure to polish it and play test it I think it's the best way to go for a fun jam game. And not overworking yourself is the best way to go for a fun game jam experience!
