It's a good practice to clean the drivetrain once in a while even if it's a CBD. We just had to order new chainring and rear cog for a customer who had ridden around 10k. Mid-motor e-bike so there's more torque at play, but still, it's good to clean it sometimes.

Always get a good quality tire on the backwheel to reduce punctures as taking wheel off is more hassle than a wheel with a chain

As a commuter I do have to say I love my bike thats equipped with a Gates CBD. For the better part of a year I was commuting on my old MTB while I saved up for a newer bike and keeping that chain cleanish was the most annoying maintenance task. Pretty much every weekend had to clean and reoil the thing or I'd get the squeaks. When it came time to pull the trigger on my new ride a belt drive was a big selling point. Hose the bike off if its particularly dirty from rideing in the rain and its good to go.

What frameset is that? I cannot find a touring frame to build a bike with both belt drive and an Enviolo rear hub.

I've got my second belt drive bike now and I'm hooked. Yes it's costly but just as expensive as a mid range groupset really to convert to so not really that expensive. I'm hooked and probably never going back to chain. It solves all of cycling's problems you associate with chain and yes it replaces it with other problems like stock and ordering belts but it's easily solved by keeping a spare belt chainring or cog handy in the house or bags.

Nice video man. I have a gates carbon drive too, I have a creak coming from the bottom bracket. It is an eccentric bottom bracket 73x118mm in square taper. Have you had to clean regrease the bottom bracket before?

I´m about to buy Canyon pathlite on 8 SUV electric bike with gates belt and enviolon hub gears. Would you recommend this bike to lose weight, i´m 260lbs. The bike motor has 85nm.

I loved my belt drive until it disintegrated miles from home, i have only ridden 7k, new belt made in uk, only available from Germany Euros 60. i am disappointed.
