Replacing pre-installed Windows with Ubuntu OS

This video shows you how to replace Windows with Ubuntu.

Very important *** Please backup files on your laptop as well as the USB drive before-hand, as we will be wiping the storage disk clean.

1. Produkey (Fetch your window's product key)

2. Ubuntu official site (Download Ubuntu)

3. Rufus ( to create bootable drive)

Some additional pointers:
1. Make sure both the secure boot option under Security tab and Fast boot option under the Boot menu are disabled (shown in the video).
2. To get the boot menu to select the bootable drive, press the escape key. This could vary for different Laptop manufacturers (The video uses an Asus Laptop). You can find the corresponding key online.

Thanks for the straightforward and easy-to-follow steps. I also did a few extra steps since my Lenovo laptop was not showing the USB boot option in the bios utility setup. I wasn't able to go to bios boot option using any of the hot keys (mainly F1 or Fn+F1 for Lenovo). After lots of googling, I changed the Bios settings to "Legacy" instead of "UEFI" and that worked. After that, I selected the option to reboot from USB in my advanced recovery options step. After which everything worked like a charm. I think this had something to do with an old lenovo laptop, not sure though. But great video and very helpful! thank you!
