The W is now (out of memes) an ability, the passive and Q-R are something that I need to try and also do maths with E + R because the max HP damage look OP

Not really sure if this update is that good or bad, I'll definitely be trying out more Mundo jungle after the changes hit live. But I also gotta say I really love "At Rank 3" clauses on ults. It's like truly unlocking your champion's potential. The only other example I can think of is Darius' R execute being a true reset (as opposed to a timed reset) at rank 3.

I did some of the math, the new E gives a crazy high amount of AD going into mid-late game (at 3000 hp you have bonus 135 AD, at 4000 hp you have 180), especially since you can get a lot more bonus hp with your R active now. They might lower the bonus AD on his E before this hits live.

Mundo likes this changes, Mundo can get hit more and not go to mortuary so much.

The direction where they put Dr. Mundo is justifiably in accordance with the adjustments they made. Early game on him is basically a nerf, because he will deal less damage since his passive regen is reduced and his E already has AD stats when upgrading it. In the late game though, he will excel more in teamfights. Stronger passive regen, W when no enemies hit will still heal him for 50%, E that scales with max health, and rank 3 R makes him heal and gain more health the more enemies are present around him.

In addition, the AD scaling on R based on 'bonus' health is removed and replaced in his E, now scaling with his 'max' health. This means that he still gets AD when he ults, because the increased health based on missing health is now added as max health.

Edit: The reason I'm saying "on behalf of all Mundo mains" is because these changes were made in cooperation with the Mundo main subreddit. We've all had the chance to impact the changes if we didn't like them so if you didn't like them you should've spoken up when you had the chance.

I was waiting for this changes since they first time been announce and changes that they did is very cool. I love having W being more skilled ability and R giving more healing in team fights in late game, cause their Mundo is suffering from healing reduction.

i think he'll be op with that new item that increases healing when you press r, the duration and cd match his ult perfectly.

Genuine question with sunfire nerfs how is mundo gonna deal any damage to compete with sej ornn, I know this is what tanks are supposed to do but meat shields that don’t deal damage will never be good

Passive: Nerf to early laning, countered less by champs with easy CC in lane to chunk you, noticable improvement late.
Q: Nerf to early laning (cleaver farming) and unskilled players who can't hit cleavers
W: Much better early and mid since you max last, much better for skilled players and about the same for bad ones
E: Shifts power from ult to base kit, not much different early, but noticeably better in the midgame, where you won't always have ult up, and about the same late
R: Much better early as the healing is more valuable than the AD for a champ who's weak early, and much better late where you'll have tons of AD from E

Overall thoughts: I mostly like it. If you're playing Mundo well, it's difficult to get stomped early (unless you lost in champ select), so the buffs to late game are a fine trade-off. However, the loss of early game power means your midgame might be substantially weaker if you can't sneak in an early kill. I'm not going to worry about that until Preseason, where we get to see how the new items affect his laning. W changes will also make laning much easier once I get the hang of the timing - since you max it last anyway, the 0.75s of 80% healing will counter substantially more damage than before, as it only healed 25% flat before (which the new version does as well, after the initial burst - it's a true one point wonder now).

Honestly don't think this will do what they think it will. Not enough to make him worth much with the overall changes imo, but who knows.
