Stardew Valley 1.5 | All New Shortcuts | Community Upgrades

The Shortcuts Community Upgrade was added in the latest 1.5 Stardew Valley update, and it really opens up the map of Stardew valley quite a bit.
In this video, I will be going through how you can unlock all of the shortcuts and also going through every shortcut and helping you determine if upgrading the shortcuts are worth your three hundred thousand gold.

I’ve played this game for 200hours and completed the museum, and yet I’ve never known about this…

the shortcuts would be better earlier game. In the late game I am hardly fishing anymore, the minecart works so much better for most connections and while the shortcut to the beach is better e.g. faster access to the boat, the time gain is not that extensive; you dont need to cross through half of the town, but you need to cross your whole farm instead, as most farms have the house in the top right. If it is the river farm and it is packed with buildings it will even cost you time.

I would have priced each shortcut around 1k-3k and made it available from the start with additional gains, e.g. when they remove the wood from the beach they give you 50 wood. Now it will be like the cinema, just something you do because you don´t have enough use of money.

The shortcut up to Mountain is pretty usefull if you try complete Mister Qi challenge Fishing... Because you cant catch legend2 without catch 4 other fish.. so after you catch Angler you go up and strike in the Legend 2 spot..

These shortcuts should be in the base game, why they cost 300k after you've basically already finished the game and don't need to fish anymore amazes me.

Tbh short cuts look cool but really we should be able ride the horse ever place u go. Sucks u have to leave it.

In-game, this seems worth it.
In-universe, though? Robin is crazy charging 300, 000 for this work, in terms of materials and labor.

These are really cool shortcuts, but I think I'll completely forget about them in about 5 minutes :')

I only knew about the one the goes to the tunnel entrance, I never noticed the others. The most useful one does seem to be the one to the beach. I have two games going on right now and the shortcuts are more or less useless in the one where I have them unlocked as I have an obelisk to the beach and a return scepter, the minecarts are obviously unlocked by that point.

In my other game I'm at the first day of fall of year one and it is my best game so far but I don't see myself being able to pay for the shortcuts soon or even have the option to. Although now that I know buying Pam a house lead to that option I won't wait long once I get the option.

I should have watched all your stardew video when I found your channel instead of waiting for when youtube suggest one.

You get this upgrade way too late for them to be really useful. Hope there are mods that make these upgrades come with a new save file

I wish the shortcuts were available as a community center reward. I never use panning except on Ginger Island so it could be a good replacement.

you can go to the Ginger Island by bying obelisk from Wizard for 1 million gold, it works just like teleporters

We call it Shotcut

The changes i'd make to this would be

Adding a shortcut from your farm to secret forest

Change the cost to 10, 000

make it available for purchase 1 day after you first enter the secret forest
