This young lady is beautiful and talented with a beautiful clear voice

My grandfather was deaf but didn’t sign. He did his best to read lips but he could tune a guitar by placing the headstock to his teeth and he was pretty spot on as I found out when I grew up and learned to play guitar.

I now have his old Martin Guitar—it’s over 65 years old.

This movie is about family…and at these times it’s families that will hold things together.

I’ve watched this movie 6x & will no doubt watch it many more. I cry every time I watch at the simple beauty of family & life this actress portrays in the film. I can’t believe she was 17 when the film was made & spent 9 months learning to sign & insists she isn’t a “singer” in her humbleness. She is AMAZING & this movie is my favorite movie ever!! I liked it so much, & found Emilia Jones (whom I’d never seen in anything before CODA) to be so amazing in the part, that I watched the movie back to back - 2x in one night the first time I watched it. Her voice is amazing & she is a very talented young lady!! I hope she goes far in her career and keeps being humble! I was curious she wasn’t even nominated for the OSCAR. No one’s performance came close to Emilia Jones! I was thrilled for the Director, the actor playing the dad, & the movie won for BEST!! Yes! YES! YES!!!! Emilia was ROBBED!!
