"Chinese people respect their nice plates. That's why they're called china." Omg lol!

Lmao. My family right here. Dish washers are for storage after washing the dishes by hands.

Reasons for not using dishwasher:
-it's broken
-it's a drying rack
-it's for lazy people
-it's won't completely clean the dishes
-it's wasting water
-we have manual dishwasher at home
-don't want break it the dishwasher

My parents literally told us that our dish washer was broken for like 8 years straight. After moving to 3 different houses and owning 3 different dish washers.... It was all a lie.

I believe every Asian household comes across this situation in todays period

Honestly, one of the biggest interracial dating struggles my man and I've ever had is about whether or not the dish washer is to be used as a drying rack, or as the machine god intended it to be.

This is too real. When I got to college, my friend had to teach me how to use one of these lol

That was us growing up too lol. We still wash all the dishes by hand and I still think it's cleaner to actually scrub it off.

This will never stop being funny too me. It captured my childhood as I grew up in America with two different cultures and one of the biggest things that confused me was why we never used the dishwasher but all my American friends tend to whenever I’m over.

I’m an adult now and I came back to this video and it’s just as funny as when I originally saw the clip. My grandmother is visiting for the week and I caught her grandmother using the dishwasher today only to later find out she was using it as a drying rack...

lol. We are even worse. We wash the dishes by hand and then we put them into the dish washer to wash them again😂😂😂😂

I actually measured the water usage on the meter and our dishwasher uses less water than hand washing. I showed it to my mom and she started using the dishwasher... for a month and went right back to doing the dishes by hand. I asked her why she does it and she says it's easier for her.

I just don't get Asian parents...

If I had a dollar every time someone in my family has said “the Chinese way” or something basically saying the same thing, I’d be able to afford a dish washer 😂

"It may feel more virtuous to wash by hand, but it's actually more wasteful: You use up to 27 gallons of water per load by hand versus as little as 3 gallons with an ENERGY STAR-rated dishwasher."

This was me when I used to date my ex boyfriend who is white. I would get invited over for dinner and I would have that exact reaction from that kid and thought it was so bizarre his mom used a dishwasher to clean plates, not by hand lol
